We've Secured Funding!

Back in January our Founder, Lauren, presented a pitch presentation to a panel comprising of the Student Startup team from the University of Portsmouth and Santander Universities. We are happy to announce that the pitch was successful and she has secured Startup funding for Dyak Studios and Rise Of The Jemhaji!

Feedback from the panel said that the presentation was clear and they were impressed with Lauren’s presentation skills, so they invited her to speak to the next cohort of students about undertaking a SEP (more info on what a SEP is can be found here).

We’d like to thank both the Startup team and Santander Universities for awarding us this funding! It was a very competitive process (there were 100+ applications!) and we’re very proud of Lauren for securing the award for us. The money will be put towards the development of Rise Of The Jemhaji.

What's Coming In 2021?

As 2020 draws to a close, we’re looking forward to what we’re planning in the New Year. 2020 has definitely been a rough year for all, however for us it will always be an important one as it’s the year we launched. We weren’t up and running for the full year, as we officially made our appearance back in September, so we’re excited for 2021 and what we’ll be able to accomplish. Instead of looking back, we wanted to discuss some activities and milestones which we want to hit in the not too distant future.

Rise Of The Jemhaji Devlog #3

This is the 3rd devlog for our game, Rise Of The Jemhaji. In the last one we discussed our design process and the documents that we’re using to keep the project organised. In this one, we want to give you an update on where we are with the development of the game.

We are on the way to completing the first playable version of the game, and our artists are making great progress with the assets for it, from environments to NPCs to enemies.

Welcome to the 2nd devlog for Rise Of The Jemhaji. Last time we discussed our combat prototype and how we went about that. This time we’ll talk about the next step we took, which was fleshing out the vision of the game by starting on our game design work.

Now we’ve already talked about our top 3 documents for Game Design, but for this blog post we wanted to go a little more in-depth when discussing what we’ve done so far. Speaking of so far, the current documents we have are:
