Earlier this year, Lauren was approached by the University of Portsmouth's Creative Careers team to write a blog post documenting her experience on a self-employed placement so far, as well as give her fellow students advice on setting up their own games studio during their placement year.
We'd like to thank the Creative Careers team for allowing Lauren to talk about Dyak Studios on the university's official blog, and we hope that the insight that she has given will be useful for the next cohort of students.
Some of you may already know this, but this studio wasn’t started at random. While this has been something Lauren has always wanted to do, she was held back from doing so because of time (aka University). Thankfully that same university has given her the opportunity to start her own business, and she’s been able to do it as part of her studies! This post serves as an information dump for what Lauren will be doing this year and what a SEP actually is.
