Who Are We Looking For?
Currently, we’re looking for 2D artists who are able to create creatures, characters and maps. They need to be able to match the style of, or at least have a complimentary style to, Jess’ characters - reference below. This is to keep the general art style similar across all assets.
You also don’t need to have experience in game art (even though previous experience will be beneficial), just the eagerness to break into the industry. We’re happy to look at 2D artists who want to be a part of a game’s development to build their portfolio.
If you consider yourself a character artist, then this would be for you! We’re looking for someone to create animal and humanoid characters to act as both NPCs and enemies. You will be given reference images from our Founder and Producer, Lauren, but you will also have a degree of creative freedom.
If environments are more your lane, then joining us as a map/environment artist would be for you! We’re looking for someone to create 2D top-down maps in a Candy Crush style (reference from Google below). You will be provided with a basic sketch of the paths that need to be present and a description of the environment, but how you interpret that is completely up to you!
But What If I Can Do Both?
Brilliant! We’re not limiting applications to one-per-person. If you think you can do both, then apply for both! We’re very open to all applications and will be happy to look at an artist who fits both disciplines.
We’re very proud of the fact we’re a female-led studio, and anyone who joins us would have to have no issues with that. We’re also very welcoming of BAME and LGBTQ+ individuals so if we bring you on you would need to respect that.
We encourage and support applications from women and BAME and LGBTQ+ individuals.
